hendon prom

started down there as a youngin with me dad.
my favourite shot was half way between pensioners corner and the low drum, end of the wall. big tide over high water , couldnt fail on a moderate northerly when the south pier and high drum were un fishable.
liked the shallows behind pensioners, **** pipe, sometimes.

more good cod shots from the prom to the south pier than anywhere else in the region . my opinion anyway

steetly was up there (RIP:(), but not as many shots as the docks.
good marks fading away, cambios pier another

one day eh .........one day:rolleyes:

I love fishing Hendon, for me its two mins down road, when its cold you can sit in your car, you can rest your rod on railings, when bored you can laugh at the doggers and usually big Phil would be there to talk too, scrounge bait and knowledge until he selfishly broke his ankle!lol (at one time I thought he lived in his van there). On low tide I walk the bitch (dog not wife) along beach to Ryhope cliffs, the sea landscape becomes rocky and quite kelpy. Is this a good mark at low tide, a lot of similar marks up north often are?????

the end of the wall was spiky island , 50 yards before that was the mixer, my favourite spot when it was calm seas , had big cod out of the mixer in summertime with fresh eater peeler , them were the days , loads of different shots to fish in different conditions and state of the tides , learnt them fishing there since being a bairn now can not get on STINKS

thanks for the hisory lesson tony tompson.
:)

All the people who used to rape the dock is to blame for loosing them marks stole thousands of pounds worth. If i was on benefits i would fish it all the time let them take me to court and i will pay a pound a week no problems just dont fancy the 125 quid fine you get lol

thats rubbish phill if you were on benefits and did not pay ya fine you would do time , the docks excuse at one time was the IRA , now they use terrorist an excuse , truth is in my opinion chemicals, sewarage, and a lack of money to do repairs to the dock by whoever owns them GREED , there have been more people killed on the prom than the dock ,
