must admit reading that in sea angler got me all fired up to go there, i aint blanked there but i have not done remarkably well either, obviously like all venues if the fish aint arrived your not going to catch, however i will go back there and hope to catch, perhaps low water and see if thast makes a diff to the catch rate, now stop posting them pics-dont care how old they are, its giving me itchy feet lol

Good luck mate. Hendon Prom can be a great venue on it's day...Pick a decent tide on a dying sea and last two hrs of the flood and first three hrs of the ebb are my preferred times...Live blacks and snake whites are undoubtedly the killer bait, but big blow lug baits do equally well.

Great question mate....! Distance DOES matter, but not always LONG distance! Vary your distances to locate the fish mate...Daytime sees longcasting being a slight advantage, but night sessions can often see the fish under your rod tip!
Have a look at the beach at low water, finding gully's and fish holding features. Then choose your mark. I've often out fished people around me who continually hit the horizon. Basically, long-distance casting can have an element of bravado - just because someone can chuck a lead great distances, doesn't automatically make them a successful angler! Put your bait where the fish are, and you will succeed mate. Hope this helps...

Is it safe to pendulum cast next to other anglers or in public places, if so how do you do it? People can PM with instructions, cheers

Hang on that was 2 questions, the is it safe one and the how do you do it one. I obviously know it's not safe when them folk are around, that's why I am seldom seen exerting a pendularus cast. Just thought I'd clear that up

I think common sense should answer your first question mate...

Thats not meant to sound the way it did mate, just if anglers are crammed in, I would suggest using your own judgement whether or not it will be safe to pendulum cast. As I'm right handed, I tend to like a fair bit of room on my right hand side before going for a full blooded pendulum.
And the usual stuff like quality swivels, links etc. I never use crimps, always stop knots, as I pendulum cast quite a bit off my local beaches, I don't like to think I have any weak points in the line. A good quality leader also is essential. I've found 80lb very good, and had no bother what so ever.

Ahhh, yes of course, I'd heard a whisper from someone who was watching me catching the fish on the day of the feature, that Tony T was talking about my catch the day before from the Hall Beach!
Tony is one of those guy's who likes to continually put his baits out a long way, don't you think John? (sorry, I'm presuming your name is actually John - by the way, have we met?)
