I was just wondering what nightmares people are waking up to this morning?
We have been lucky compaired to some of our neighbours with only two tiles coming loose, my weather vane being snapped down and our back fence blown over.
Just heard the weather forecast on sky and it looks like the winds are going to get worse later this morning before easing off this afternoon.
I hope you have avoided the worst of the winds ? and your homes arnt damaged, but here in the Boro its a nightmare at the mo :( .
And I got out of bed at 02:00 to go fishing :casstet: :casstet: :casstet: not a chance in hell

Aye Tala ,just been to the post office in Gateshead to pick up my new headlight I bought on e bay ,devastation all around ,signs ,hoardings etc all over the roads.

Never ever known it as bad as this. It\'s usually pretty bad here anyway with being so high up. Havn\'t been outside yet this morning to check for damage. Sure to be something missing.

Jim.

sunderland trees down all over signs dlown over tiles off roofs etc i have a small leak coming into the house ,been lucky compared to some.

Just been to the shop for ciggy papers and notice a fire engine over the road, me being me, went to ask if I could help (always wanted to be a hero), no came the reply, so I asked what had happened , to be told that a chimney had been blown down and thro the roof trapping a 10 year old girl in her attic room.
The only way the brigade could get her was thru the roof, she had been stuck since 3:00 this morning and her parents only noticed at 09:30.
Poor little luv :(

My brothers the installation manager for a firm that installs Roller shutter doors...he\'d had 11 call outs by 11am this morning cos the wind had blew them in :o

Aye, it were a bit breezy - and still is. no electricity out here still, went off at 4am. Soem muckel big trees down. Stanhope high street, if anyone knows it, the trees there must be getting on for a hundred years old, snapped clean at the base! some 4foot in diameter. River at eastgate has burst its banks, so, Ell, Yer ma might have a water feature at the caravan now. Never seen the ford in stanhope as high, a good 6 feet over the top of the stepping stones., to cap it all the rain turned to a complete blizzard for while out here.

we lost about a square meter of the roof, so have been mopping up all morning,

found out bin half way up the fell this morning when I was out with the dog.

the boat decided to jump off the trailer as well!

Aye they were big old trees in Stanhope mate. Never even heard of the ford being that high. That Snow was pretty bad this morning just went shopping when it started.

Jim.

Even with the ford that high someone will try and drive over it ,how many times you seen that on the news now!

remember the luton van last year that got stuck, driver rescued by helicopter etc?? Didn\'t make the news, but after they were rescued, the van was there a couple of days. It was loaded with brand new, smeg, range style cookers. The following day, river equally high the van was still there, but the shutter was up and the van empty! Somehow someone managed to not only get to the van and open the shutter but to carry 8 huge cookers back out, all under the cover of darkness!

last tiem I saw the wear as high as this was years ago whjen the bridge at eastgate got washed away. If you got the ford, the river is nearly at road level if that gives you an idea of how high it is!

fences, trees, bins the odd roof\'s were out on the road today........chasing me......fooooooooking hell ;)

Thats magic mushrooms for you Jonny , stick to Strongbow its a lot safer LOL :D :D

Think I\'ll have a look along there as well ,the wonders of nature never cease to amuse me or amaze me even, god even the Tyne lookes impressive today ,right up and full of trees etc.

Strange sight today at the entrance to tyne ...... almost at high tide yet there was still a big out fall mushroom of brown water to sea, usually at this state of tide the crossover line is inward of the piers, must have been because of the amount of rain and so freshwater running down and out to sea.

Was on Roker today., and I\'ve never seen as much fresh water come out of the wear, didn\'t seem to put the fish off though, loads of whiting on the pier and in the river.
