Highland Games

Drove past the local Highland Games on Sunday. Why oh why do they persist in holding them in early May?? It's the West Coast of Scotland.............it rains a lot in May. Took a quick couple of photos before the rain arrived.

Had a weeks walking and scrambling up the west coast during the summer holidays of 1987. Drove up overnight and kitted up for an early start on Ben Cruachan (nearly 3700'), absolutely lashing it down in the car park, foot of fresh snow on the top.....crampons in August? - that's Scotland for you....and long may it continue.
