I've never cast a rod for three weeks which is unusual for me, just been busy, busy,busy. So I was amazed to get a pass out today for a few hours instead of doing the shopping. Last minute thing, where to go?....well as it was blowing a gale I thought somewhere with the wind behind me and a lot of shelter. Horden beach and the chance of something unusual hit the spot.


First cast and within ten minutes I had a stonking bite, loads of slack line, so reeled in and felt quite a bit of thumping and a fair bit of weight. After a bit of a struggle landing the fish it turned out to be another north east ray for me at 7lb


I never had another bite in the three hours I was there but you know what I just didn't care!
