well i will be moving my boat from sunderland to Seaham if this marina ever gets completed, while im out im going to give her a bit of a touch up both above the water line and below.
Im debating whether to get my engine serviced, or just buy a newer model.

Ive got my trailer to overhaul because it was in a right state when i got it and ive not done anything to it, so new bearings and grease up all around and a bit of paint on the wheels to spruce them up a bit.

Apart from that i got nothing to do .

Get the water pump sorted, check charging system and batteries, clean engine compartment and wash and wax deck, and thats it.....Bring it on..:D:D

all of them!

that said... the 'new' one, despite being nearly 110 years old, is likely to see fish before the old one

Although there's a few logistical problems to sort out first. the boat is still north of montrose, the prop, shaft and rudder are on the isle of Iona, and the engine is on the isle of Bute!

oh yeah, and I want to sail her as well, the mast is in Peterhead and the sails are on Orkney!

suggested to my other half she might like a weekend in scotland next month for her birthday :D

still debating taking on another one thats over 150 year old as well

How did it get scattered so far and wide? It must have been some sized mine it hit :)

Just got to fit radar, chartplotter, spot light, radio, fishfinder, electronic compass,AIS then fit the twin charging system fit two batteries shore power fit auxhillary brackett cabin cushions and back rests fit the flushing kit to the trailer

then basically just put all the stuff aboard ready for out to sea

Not much really

Well now I know I like boating, I am doing the following.

  1. Replacing the cabin with a new one due to original one leaking and the wood is soaked
  2. Moving the steering and throttle controls into the cabin.
  3. Install full nav lights (not just the single one I currently have)
  4. Install temp and speed sensor for the fish finder.
  5. Creating a new instruments dash.
  6. Replacing the main engine from a 35hp to a 7.5hp (displacement hull) in order to save on fuel. Need to find the throttle and steering extension for a mariner 7.5.
  7. New split battery charging system.
  8. Replacing the rubber bumper around the boat cause it currently looks like a hose pipe that's been split and painted!

Looks like the previous owner has been a bit too much DIY on this boat so just tarting it up a bit.
I really want a small 10-15hp inboard engine as this is what my boat should have for it hull but need to find out what else I need before I decide.

Yes not long for...
