I am back

hi all just to let you know I am back and would appreciate if you would send me your catch reports. there are to many posts to look through.
Had a smashing time, mqnaged to damage the hire car before we got out the garage, broke a rod the first time I used it, manged to catch myself with a hook which needed pushing through and snipping off, but forgot the pliers so had to drive back with a hook in my right hand and trying to change gear without knocking it, one of the fish I caught tried to remove two of my fingers, then managed to get another very small hook stuck in my finger, just ripped it out, and woke up one morning to find I had a falt tyre. Bit more about the fishing when I get the time.

this is the blighter that nearly had my fingers, pincers needed next time. Photo dosn't do it justice, it was also gutted, the fish was about four inches thick.

Mainly fished the La Santa Lagoon, where all the top sports people go, plus windsurfers, kyakers etc. Chris who we stay with and his mates have had a bit of success there, at one time it was obviously natural but concrete walls have been put all the way round with inlets going under the road as it is tidal. Lots of fish, all kinds at roadway when tide ripping through. Best fish I caught was about 4kgs, hell of a battle ran like anything and kept jumping out, but that was small fry saw a photo of a lad with the same species as I caught 17.5kilos, 1 mtr 35 cm long, nearly as big as the Spanish guy that caught it, took him 40mins to get in. Saw some other really big fish in there, one fish has been seen taking octopus, along with barracuda, European garfish (big buggers) and only saw the big mullet once on the first day, one got my bait and was off down the lagoon like nothing else and the hook came out. No matter how much groundbait I used they didn't come near, they seemed to be tending to stay in the middle along the sides of a big reef in the lagoon. Among the smaller mullet up to 3lb, where loads of schoolie bass, taking the bread. But where there are small ones there will be big uns. Will be back sometime to see if I can entice one of the big buggers, ones I was catching where taking 6-8oz mullet live baits. Did see one mullet about 3lb floating in the lagoon with two great big bites out of it, if the swimmers saw some of the fish in there and what their teeth are like, the nudists wouldn't be going in anymore. Got a canny sun tan as well.

Arthur no idea what they called them in English, Spanish was "pirimaton" think it is a name for all types of fish they don't know what type they are.
