one of the lads went out for a chuck in -3c and strong easterlies that made it feel more like -10c. anyway he caught a load of dabs and a few catfish up to 9lb or so. he kept one about 5-6lb for the table and gave me a call to go and take some photos so i put one in the gallery for you... ugly or what!

Lol I have a nice scar on my right hand index finger off one of them mate, when I was on the trawlers back in 1973 fishing just off Iceland I shoved my hand in the fish pen to grab a cod to gut and it latched onto my finger, nasty horrible looking things they are, it bloody didn't half hurt lol.

Ive dated something similar Im sure I read somewhere you can get them round eyemouth ..are they also known as wolf fish ?? Im sure theyre supposed to taste nice..like scampi ??

My mate says they are delicious, never caught one myself but have seen one or two caught on the boat. Not nice at all to look at though, but I suppose it's mother must have loved it.

Yeah definately a Wolf fish, you sometimes see them when your diving at St Abbs. Supposingly there is a big one that lives in one of the harbour walls that gets spotted once or twice over the summer!
