you want vengence?? you want to the perpetrators of certain crimes suffer a hideous death?? and if so, if handed the knife and told to do your worst would you do it, and having done it would you be any better a human being that person you just dispatched, go watch the ken bigley video and tell me, that you can do that to the next person that is convicted of rape or murder

Theres a difference here Mark. I don\'t consider myself to be an executioner, but if someone ever murdered or raped any of my family, give me the knife so I can deal with the low life scum. No, I wouldn\'t be a better person for it, but I know the sick b**tard wouldn\'t do it again, and in the meantime I\'d be saving taxpayers thousands in keeping the b**tard fed and watered for however long he\'d be in prison.

I\'ve seen the Ken Bigley video and it was horrific, but don\'t dare cast people who want vengeance for their murdered loved ones in the same category as those butchers who killed Ken Bigley.

If there was no shadow of doubt it was him/her, there wouldn\'t be a problem. If there is a doubt, it doesn\'t happen. Simple.

\"The meek shall inherit the Earth\". Aye but when, that\'s what I want to know. 2005 years since the Romans alledgedly strung up Christ and we\'re all still suffering their guilt trip. If ever there was a god I reckon he gave up on us when \'Rome\' linched his son. If there still is a god with all that power then he\'s one sick son of a bitch and must be having a right laugh at the d***heads that think he\'s the good guy and worship him. Especially the ones who scream \"god is great\" as they run into a crowd of innocent people and press the button.

I\'ve seen poverty in third world countries (during a spell in the merchant navy) that I\'ll never forget. There are no gods, only people. The sooner the people realize that, and start believing in themselves instead of pretendy gods the better the world will be.

I was gonna say that \"that\'s the great thing about discussion forums - you start off with one contentious subject (politics) and arive at another one (religion)\"..........but, it\'s getting so much harder to differentiate between the two that they ARE the same subject.

BTW......I agree with you, Graham.
So much suffering is (and has been for thousands of years) inflicted in the name of god......any god......doesn\'t matter what faith.
Why can\'t these \"devout followers\" wise up and realise this?

You never hear of Agnostic Funamentalists shooting people in the streets or Atheists blowing people up for what they don\'t belive in, do you.

The answer would appear simple......without god.....any god.....the world would be a much better place.

No politics no religion = peace or does it. Civil wars caused by one lot wanting there way and instead of using the ballot box being a minority usually they use the gun. In turn if those who do not want to be enslaved by the minority they have no other recourse that to take up arms agaiinst them or become subservient. This hppens all over Africa, basically tribal war fare.
I have mentioned previously that Human rights have gone to far and not used for what they are meany for protecting the innocent from the gulity, which seems to upset mark, hope he has seen todays papers, British Intelligence agencies ahve had to withold evidnce which would ensure that Saddam Hussain was found gulty and hanged, why because it would be against his humna rights as the EU does not have a death penalty. What about the poor people in his country who where slaughtered in their millions.

Just read Marks post and have one thing to say.

TC, is there any chance of an automatic spell check on this site ;)

About to give up you missed the point again, wrong doers are using the human rights act to get away with mureder. Whoever heard of keeping evidence back which proves someone gulity just because it could have broke his human rights.
PS please ranslate your last post Mark.

pps Will be buns with double whipped cream for me and no shouting that contravenes the human rights act.
