Well it has been 6 days since the local postman last came to the house but today he made it out in the snow...well the saying no news is good news was so right, out of the 7 letters 3 where bills.

The fee's for the Marina this year have gone up (if i worked it out right) 5% this year and even more if you dont pay in full before the tax goes up but with everything in life you either pay it or you go with out and i love the boating so will be paying it but with the fuel costs and the fee's up 2011 boating seasonwill be that little more expensive for us all.

Great service is offered in my opinion from my local marina but the baoting game is expensive so make them good days count in the summer.

I think it would be nice to have a mooring in the marina, being able to leave all your fishing gear on board etc: but the cost to me would be so prohibative, especially when you ad up all the hidden costs, such as, lifting the boat out for anti fouling jobs and repairs etc: added fuel to get to sea. Would it be any cheaper if you didn't have to use the lock and the costs of running it, or does the security outweigh the costs:question::question:

I'm expecting a rise as well next year, and 26% is a big hit :o. I pay £1700 at the minute :(, thats £141.00 a month, thats more than my mortgage :(, When you're out there fishing, summer or winter, catching fish with your mates, i think its a no brainer, pay up and enjoy...:D:D:D.

thats one nasty "hit" rich:( as you so rightly say if you enjoy your boating and want some good level of security you have to pay:)

Pay for what you get, never had any issue with any of the service its all been great for me and the people always have abit crack when tieing up or fueling but this game is expensive, just have to sort selling some cod on the side and borrow a trawling net for some prawns lol

Hay its a hobby and apart from footie that i only spend around £120 a year on i dont have any others so s*d it.

If you are not happy with the cost of the mooring, then have alook at other options, especially those that don't live local, might make them think again, or you could go on a worthless protest like our students or even our bid for the world cup.

Like you say, you’ve just got to grit your teeth and pay, not just for the marina fees but anything to do with boating. I had the letter this week too but don’t think it’s such a steep increase for the main berths, I’ll have to check what % it is.

It is the price to pay for ease of use, all the facilities, car parking and no hassles. Bloody expensive but more than worth it. I would say the extra trips I am able to get out without the hassle of getting the trailer and boat ready, fishing gear ready, towing the boat up, launching, parking, and then the previous in reverse make it well worth it.
Another meaning for boat was given to me by one of the Australian lads I am working with at the minute,

BOAT;

B ring
O n
A nother
T housand!
Made me giggle but very true!:)

Graham.

marina costs

marina costs

it:s onlly gone up 5% been in marina 8 years normally goes up £10 mtr per year ,except last year stayed the same

As i say its alot but worth it as its safe and service has always been good, i am heading down in the morning to check the engine pipes and will pay then, will be my 4th year in the marina.

I just spotted the mistake i looked at the normal births price not the price for under 6m like mine...thats more like the price i expected to pay this year...sorted.
