I think the comp was won buy a 8lb fish from the green wall, second 6lb (not sure where from).
I was fishing the north end of the green wall with me mate and had nothing(he had a stonking bite early on only to dive in the kelp) anyway we saw a nice 4lb to our left amongst hoards of anglers and that was it.
so we both moved to the south end of the wall only to blank.

word has it that the winning fish came from the origional spot I was in but hey, thats angling!!

well done that man.

Fished Hawthorn Hive. Got two 34cm codling early on...Gutted, water was clear as gin. Nearly put a spinner on

Not in the compo. Fished Heugh today and Steve Walker pulled up a fish just short of 8lb. He walked it to the steps and i got hold of it for him--lovely big fish full of roe.

roe weighed exactly 1lb and have heard he enjoyed it very much
