Well even though the weather was a stinker on Saturday i got some worms put on my waterproofs and headed down to the point at Beadnell. The sea was a bit big and i was loosing or breaking my floats at a silly rate but i was determined to catch up and get a wrasse or pollock! I was onto my last float which was starting to split in the middle when it suddenly disappeared under the water, i reeled in to find a lovely Wrasse on the end!! It's only taken me about six full days fishing but i finally caught one.
Loads more bites followed but all i was landing was Velvet swimmers!! about six in total.
I decieded to have one last chuck (as you do) before the wife came to pick me up but nothing on...or so i thought as when i reeled in there was a very small fish on. I think it is a baby pollock due to the curved line and bigger than normal eye. If it is a pollock that's two down and one to go for the species this month. I'll be out in the next few days to get me a bass with a LOT of luck!
