apologies if this is in the wrong place.
Would any of you guys n gals know where I could possibly pick up a wooden barrel, the kind distiller\'s/brewer\'s use.basically thinking of building a cold smoker this spring to do fish/meat /cheeses etc have all the info but not the barrel.if I can\'t get a barrel I was thinking of a tall clothing locker might work, dunno yet tho just a thought...cheers

they sell the old oak barells here in wigtown at the distillery, its along way to roll one to your home though. ;)

no far from my front door though, half the toon has got them halfed and stuck flowers in them, got them in the garden......... easy pleased. :exclam:

theres a wood lumber yard down past the b&q wherehouse at sunderland sells them half or full think ther bout £25 instead of turning into wherehouse follow road past rocktop the yard is right opposite the pub

I\'m from Ashington Simon and thanks for the info lads will try this place next to the Teams...will let you know how I get on.

not as pretty, but I\'ve used an old fridge! Strip out everything, make a hole for the flue in the bottom, make a few cork sized holes in the top, put corks in these holes, so you can take them out to adjust flow/smoke intensity. 6 to 8 foot of stainless flue liner, to the fire box! not as pretty as an ok barrel but fire proof and effective
