Went down the marina to clean the boat today, but ended up sneaking out for a few hours, since Deano and Stewey were already out. The sea was perfect.. Stewey invited me to tag along..cheers mate.:)

Ended up with 16 cod, 2 ling and 1 mackerel, the ling and the mackerel went back along with quite a few smaller cod.

Biggest fish was 8 1/2 lb with plenty 6,7lb, and plenty taken on shads.
Stewey lost a good one off not far from the boat, i knew by the scream :D...sorry for laughing mate but it sounded really comical...;)

Cracking catch report mate you probs were only fishing for 3 hours and by yourself it was a mint day to be out I must admit I sniggered when stu lost his fish but that was only so he didn't beat me bet your arms are killing pulling 2 at a time up

Good that you got a sneaky trip in, it was lovely wind wise until about 1pm at the marina today but that rain never let up...nice catch for a unexpected day out...i took the weekend off to service the boat, paint and clean.

clean the boat........ I use that line too, well done on getting out and hard luck on mising the doubler only to see it caught on rosie-mae, i spent the day on the coutch...[slight hangover] but did venture out just to look at the sea state off hartlepool

Sounds like you had a good few hours chris,i never bothered due to the non stop rain,I wish i did now looking at that lovely flat sea,and that knife on top of the fish m8,Thay won't fillet them selves..lol.

I only had my hoodie on, the rain was only light until we came back in, then it got heavy, still soaked though .

My arms were aching mate, the joints are'nt as young as they used to be, Rough day for the pirks though Deano, i lost about 12 i reckon, before going onto shads

Aye Rob is that Redcar on the right :D.

Did you take Stingray out Richie or are you cleaning and painting on the pontoon.

She is getting a engine bay clean down and new coupling fitted then mid wek or weekend she will be lifted for a cutless bearing, new anodes and a paint.

If she didn't get her clean yesterday, there'll be a bit more to do now, lol. Superb result Chris, a lovely stamp of fish there, wish i'd gone out now.:(

Nice one mate, I'm hoping to get out again tomorrow as the forecast looks good, I have the task of finding someone to go with me first, not sure if deanos better half would let him out twice in one week haha

Got the bearing from Storra marina, it was only £4 more than the cheapest i could find on the net with the p&p so it was fine, mind never done it before and its been in 10 years so expecting a job getting it out, read all the info about how to do it etc.

I will be out of action at least 6 more days maybe longer depending on when the new flexible coupling comes to aid in a smoother running of the boat, then its time to hit the fishing hard 3 times a week if the weather lets me....and thats a big IF

Sorry jacked your thread.....nice catch :)

i would have snapped your hand off mate but today im on jigger duty unless you know of a cheap diver who is willing to retrive my lost pirks from yest :D

Richy, would you take some progress pics as you remove and replace the old bearing, would be intereting in case some of us have to replace ours.:)
