Who has the authority to police water activities in the estuary, power of arrest etc?
the police
ive seen someione get arrested on a jet ski in the tyne for towing a banana ride out with people on,it is against the law ,the copper said

They're a menace to everyone in the river, themselves included, ignoring speed restrictions etc. - I think a few were finally prosecuted recently & hopefully the river police will continue to monitor them closely. Nothing against people having fun & using them responsibly; surely the open shore would be a better choice.

50mph in the river, is there not a limit for them like all boats..ouch is all i can say.

I remember seeing a couple of close ones with a jet ski being hit with a lead and one being ripped off his seat by some line..both got back on and kept away from the macky bashers after that.

Lucky lad it never took his head off.

There's a stocky fellow who likes to show off down the middens from time to time at high water. Thinks he's great coming within 60yards of Loyds Jetty then along the beach.

You can Imagine peoples reaction when fishing there.

These guys deserve what they get, frankly ah get sick of one finger salutes off them and get very tempted to lift my line up in the air for them to go into ! fishing gear is not cheap and I wonder how they would react if you were to sink their precious little jet ski.
The river is not a play ground for these idiots.

jet skiers

jet skiers

try watching your rod getting dragged in by the ? call them what you want if you see a jet skier you hold your cast till they go by they see your line they could'nt give a t-ss got no time for them as there are the odd one's who no the rule's of giving anglers a wide birth some dont and could'nt give a t-ss just like all sports a bit training would'nt hurt and could save there live's as well as others

I always thought there was a "speed limit" on the tyne.
Once again the minority spoiling it for the majority.

There is, it's 6knots.
Jet-skiers have been done in the past on the Tyne for taking the (*&^, personally I think as soon as this prat is out of hospital he should be prosecuted.
