Having been away from fishing for a while i was tempted out by a mate last weekend, we had a trip to Kircudbright that was ok with a few fish showing but knowing how good it can be it felt like unfinished business....

So, a day off from work was booked and off we went yesterday- and what a cracking day it turned out to be with fish from the word go. There was myself and my mate Gary (Gaverick on here) who also hasnt fished for a while. Due to the weather being so good with bright sunlight the pollock didnt really respond to spinners/jellyworms but the macky where always there to fill in. Most of the pollock (all bar 1) fell to float fished rag, they were mainly between 1-2lb apart from a lovely fish of about 4lb that i had, it wasnt huge but it gave a great account of itself on the light gear. We also had a few wrasse to float fished rag/crab, the best falling to Gary but unfortunately it was lost on the lift. We think it could have been about the 5lb mark as i had one last year that was over 4lb and this was a fair bit bigger, it was a shame but at the end of the day its good to know such a nice fish is still out there for someone else to get, and it will probably get even be bigger

We had plenty of action fishing the bottom too with lots of doggies including double shots in some cases, it would have been nice to have a chance to see if there was anything else out there but there was so many doggies nothing else had a chance.

All in all a brilliant day with highs and lows, we both look like we have been in the oven at gas mark 6 for 2 hours!

I'm red as a lobster this morning, I think I'll need to have a bath in some after sun to cool me down haha.

It was a great day out, plenty of fish and a new mark learned for us, I'm sure we will be back again soon.

Don't forget the evil fish I caught (bullhead?), at least he is back in the sea to terrorise some other angler in the future.

Had some belting days up there any method goes aswell head into the bay at the caravan park and there is an unlimited supply of crab over low water
