Just after a bit of advice regarding klm flights from newcastle to trondheim. Our kids goin to Vega island in Feb and they have been looking at flights and decided klm is the best option to get to their destination at the back of beyond:rolleyes: But when you book there is no option for baggage allowance, apparently you pay it at the airport so could get well stung,so do any lads know what the cost is say per 20kg case and per rod tube? Thanks in advance,Bri.

Hi mate, I fly klm every month to Frankfurt. Don't pay for baggage initially as it'll cost approx £33 to take a 24 Kg bag. Just click to take cabin baggage and when you do online booking in confirmation (you'll receive an email) approx 24 hrs before flight, you'll have option to pay for hold luggage for £13. Hope this helps.

Cheers mate so is that per flight cos theyve got three flights to get there and same back so 6x £13 0r £33 depending which baggage option they take?

It's each way mate. You get the option every time you do the online check in. Might cost more the longer the flight but it's definitely cheaper than booking hold luggage when you initially book flight.

Ok thanks mate .It's still vague though when you can't plan the exact cost especially if you taking two 20 kg cases and a rod tube over 3 flights each way.Just heard off lad who went last year cost him 67 quid for his rod tube over 2 flights so I can imagine you could get well stung :(

Were going in feb from Newcastle via Amsterdam.

The return flights cost me £169.19p

Then I added the Baggage which came to £77.60 for 2 cases/items each way.

my matt did the same so I take a case with my clothes etc in and another with all our bait and some food bits in. My mate then takes a case and a rod tube with all of our rods in. Done this a couple of times and not had a problem at all with it. (The baggage policy allows you to take a rod tube as your first case/item and then book another extra case, if you ad a 3rd item of package the price for the 3rd item rockets)

Not sure why you mention 3 flights as its only 2.

We have also flew direct from Gatwick in the past but its a bit of a hassle driving down.

He can still go via London 1 flight to Trondheim then the connecting flight to Bronnoysund not sure on waiting times in between flights I hate KLM they have lost plenty of my gear but always got them back the same night or the day after I get there via a taxi

Yeah Nicky ive heard too many bad stories about KLM thats why we stick with Norwegian but our kid considering KLM cos you can book the full flight package to Bronnoysund with them. Its planes, trains and automobiles to get where they goin.....:)

Where and what dates are you going Chief ?

We go on the 7th feb back to Skarnsundet like you we organise it ourselves and we know the area and its straightforward to get to.We always do ok there plenty o fish i had afew doubles to 16lb last year and me mate had one just over 20 so it does us:) Whats it like around where you are going ?

We at Flatanger on the 9th so will see you there. 4 of us in our party. Been 4 times now so know area pretty well.
Mick.

You and Ian having a session down our way like Mick? ?

Mick has a fascination with Skarnsundet. Personally having being there the fishing is certainly no better than where we are going so its pretty pointless driving for a couple of hours each way to fish that area.

No I wouldn't drive for 2/3 hrs unless it was mega which it can be but not guaranteed we went up to vik once and it wasn't worth the trip to hillbilly land lol

Exactly especially when i caught my best ever fish about 30 yards from the apartment door where we are going.

Yes its ideal when theres good spots right on your digs thats why i like where we go you can be on the pier in 5 mins where we ve had cracking bags and good fish off there no driving and you can just go on anytime on your own if you want:)Talking to Ian this morning and he said he cant wait to come down our way with Mick......no i just made that up:):)

I think Ian has an idea about heading North, balls to that too, Whats the point in wasting ours when theres cracking marks within 10-15 mins drive.

The last time we went the best mark proved to be basically fishing from the local supermarket car park! (shame we didn't know about the spot until the last day though)
