Korkis Kanny Katch! 7.5lb bass

hes done it again , after his well reported 5lb bass the other month, boardmember Korki (Brain Corkhill of Gateshead for Mr Charlton!) has landed another clonking Bass from Seaton Seluice last night (Wed 21st) :red:

this time a whopping 7.5lb!

3/0 pulley rig with rotton bottom, with large rag/lug mix bait, half way through the tide going down did the damage. Two other Tommy Bass were caught as well around the 2lb mark, but were returned alive.

Will add a clearer pic when he emails it, for now enjoy this pic off a phone of a computer screen.

A fine plump specimen! and a nice bass! Well Done Bri "Goldenballs" Korki!

Congratulations on a dream fish mate and people say you cant catch Bass in the winter months,well done its my favourite fish,hope i can catch one as good.

Lovely fish. I'll have to hunt out my old photo's, i've got a pic of the 7.5lber i got in the 90's off the cambois hot-pipe - almost had me dragged into the water, hell of a fight!

Once upon a time it might have made a difference but not now, there are so many Bass coming from these areas, that anyone with even a little knowledge will know they are there. With or without these catch reports the nets will still be there at certain times of the year.

If you are friendly with someone in a tackle shop you will get all of this information and more while you are waiting to collect your bait or having a cup of coffee. Standing on a beach you can pick up almost as much info, they don't need the internet to know there are more and better Bass turning up on our local beaches. I know one person that used to get regular information from netters of what was caught in their nets and pass it on to shore anglers.

A few years ago I would never have told anyone about a catch like this for fear of netters, they know more than we do. I have had several Emails and PMs about good catches of Bass from several different area's that were never reported on the main forum for similar reasons, but it certainly isn't the great secret it once was.
