Nice piece today in the Sun newspaper on Lady anglers....Good to see local lass Lucy Bowden promoting the sport

Lucy's group isn't the only ladies fishing club in the area.

Check out www.ladiesfishing.com or the Ladies Fishing page on Facebook. We have a sea fishing event at the end of Oct aimed at ladies and juniors and we are being filmed on Monday for Sky Sport's Tight Lines programme.

The photo below was taken at our latest session at Chatton Trout Fishery

We are also heavily involved in fundraising and helping the Casting for Recovery Charity which supports women who have had breast cancer. A recent day salmon fishing Bywell Beat on the River Tyne raised money for the charity and we also helped a group of young people with learning difficulties with fly dressing, entomology and of course salmon fishing on the same beat.

There is an article in Northumbrian Water's September newsletter about our recent trip to Hury Reservoir -

Any ladies wishing to try fishing please get in touch as we have events organised in a variety of locations or come and visit our stand if you happen to be attending the Glasgow Angling Centre open weekend on 29 and 30 September.

there is some good work being done for ladies fishing in the North East its primarily Fly angling but Sea angling does get covered occasionally, lets not forget we have had some very good ladies in Sea Angling in the North East including international team members,it would be good to produce a few more ...

Well done Ali,its about time ladies angling, whether it be fly or sea was brought to the publics attention more and more.
There are some great lady anglers out there who are more than capable of holding their own against any most blokes.

Just a quick update on the Ladies Fishing visit to Hury Reserviour. Have a look at November's Trout Fisherman magazine and you can read the article about the day - Fifty shades of Grey Duster. There is some info on fishing the reservoir, which is owned by Northumbrian Water.

Oh and if any of your wives/partners fancy giving either sea or fly fishing a go tell them to check out www.ladiesfishing.co.uk or have a look at the Ladies Fishing page on Facebook

A woman's place is "in the house" making sure she has a nice meal ready for her man (after he's been fishing) also she should make sure there is enough hot water for her hubby's bath............my God Women whinge enough about silly meaningless things without getting us :) a earful on the bloody beach, any bloke who buys a female a fishing rod should be strapped to the railings on Roker pier in a force 6 N/Easterly.
