hi all:)
just wondering (mainly because im bored:D) ive got two multipliers that have
had levelwinds on but have been removed! is it adviseable to use shockleader or
straight through incase the leader knot hits the top bar:confused: while
im on the subject your views on if you do remove the levelwind do you go the
whole hog and ct convert it or is it fine the way it is:confused: any help would be good:)

you will need to remove the top bar and plug it then fit a ct bar where the level wind was or save yourself the hassle and buy a ct cage, you must do either one so you can get your thumb right over the spool for casting

If its like the old 7000/7oooc/7000c3 you can put the level wind bar back in the cage, leave the worm drive inside the bar just remove the level wind and the gear wheel thats housed in the left hand side plate or fit a conversion bar

does the job, the ct cage is just the same but without the small holes in my eyes like ;)

the CT cage is not the same as there is no top bar and a solid bar where the level wind would have been, with having no top bar you can wrap your thumb over a much bigger surface area of the spool for casting giving you less chance of the spool slipping, leaving the level wind bar out will only give sea water easy access to the inside of the reel while you wind in or through spray ...... a conversion bar and studs will cost around £14 and really is a simple job ...
