Lobster Potts tonight 29th

Brilliant mate! I'm well pleased you put her back - what a stunning fish! You've definately set a good moral standard by letting her go to spawn again and live another day! I'll think twice about knocking my next fish on the head thats for sure.

I hope this string is "food for thought" (forgive the pun) for everyone that reads it. Maybe there will be a few more returned safely to fight another day.

Nice one

Steve

Thanks to Paul for uploading the pictures for me and also Keith B for the offer to do the same. It's very pleasing for myself to read all the comments on this site relating to the fish so a big thanks to you all from me. I first posted on this site last February when I caught my first doubler from Cullercoats, a nice fish of 15lbs 8ozs. Since then it's been my ambition to catch another, but with a proviso that I would release if at all possible. As it happens I have only just recently purchased a set of digital scales which cost me £14 about 3 weeks ago. I weighed and released four nice cod last week up to 4 lb 11 oz and I must say I get just as much pleasure doing this as I was before when I was keeping them for the pan. Don't get me wrong on this as if I am fishing a club match I have to keep the fish and take them back to the club house as there isn't much trust about during competitions. Maybe more people may follow this trend !!!
Thanks again to you all out there.

Marty

excellent fish marty it must be a great feeling to catch a fish that big and then watch it swim away when you release it

Marty, what a lovely looking fish, and to put it back is fantastic. I wish I could say I would done the same, but I think you've showed me the way to go now.

Well done mate.

True sporting style

True sporting style

I think this was a fantastic move, catching a nice fish getting it`s picture then releasing it.
not many fisherman on our coastline catch a fish of this calibre, sometimes not even in a lifetime of battling the elements, and spending endless amounts on equipment, bait to keep the sport alive. this guy has shown fishing for its true sporting qualities, releasing a fish of this stature has certainly shown his awareness and true sportsmanship.

I hope this makes many more anglers stand up & be counted

well done mate
