can anyone explain why , when you log on and put remember me in the box , that after about 3 days you have to log in again

It depends on how big a memory your PC has. If say you have 128mb ram your PC may only remember for a few days whereas 512mb ram will be longer.



Don\'t rush down to your local PC shop !!!!!

the site delivers a cookie to your PC which expires after 7 seven days so you have to log in again. memory won\'t make any difference - I\'ve got 8gig of RAM in my mac!

Mark, with the 7 day expiry on the cookie in mind, what is going on with the \"Remember me:\" tick box on the login screen. On the old NESA site I never had this problem (although some members did). However, the new site does not work as it should. I view the site every day but it still logs me out after a few days, hence it may look as if I\'m not around but if I have something to say (not very often) I need to login again.

I have always suspected a bug on the login screen, perhaps not setting things correctly on the cookie. I suggest the person responsible for the code checks it out, alternatively e-mail me the file(s) and I\'ll have a look to see if something is broken. Also, it\'s worth deleting the NESA cookies, that can sometimes help, just going to dump mine after posting this.

one of the problems is that the nesa forums are all based on PHP NUKE, which is installed on the nesa servers, so we (well TC really) only has access to the admin and setup of the modules rather than the code itself. so we can\'t tinker with the structure of the things just fiddl withe cosmetics, hence not been able to add links down the side and such like

never worried about it too much but I also get caching problems, even running without a cache. can sometimes take an hour for new posts to show
