probably not if the weather's nice mate it gets packed with dog walkers runners and surfers at the south side. i'd try find somewhere more out the way. cambois beach is normally pretty quiet even in nice weather
Are even closer to home the small beach at st merreys at low tide
Have to say that's a bit closerI will give that a try as well. is there much to be caught at either during the summer or are they mainly winter beaches?
St merreys both for me kelp cod in winter and collie maki pollic wrass lance Sandeel sprats herring in summa in the gully on left hand side ov st Merrys crisp gully
Nice one! any worth keeping for the table or do you release them all back? how do you normally catch them? off the bottom, float, spinner or lure?
If ther sizes the nothing stopping you keeping tham and at this time ov year me personalie wood spinn and flote fish you's on flote as bait makrill r sandeel pm me mate
sand eel if using frozen is better to be used when spinning i find. if float fishing maccy use the silver part of the belly fish such as pollock and coalies think this is a sandell or other small baitfish.
peeler crab can also be good but imo ragworm is by far the best
pravit message me matesorry for all the questions guys, very new to shore fishing - usually go still water for trout. so...
Righty, so if I am wanting pollock etc I am better heading up to St Mary's and using either spinner or float. I was up at eyemouth at the weekend and got some 5" sand eel lures - would these be ok? What tide am I best going for up there? and does it get busy? last thing I want to be doing is catching other peoples lines.
