Look after your gear

Got up this morning and found that my garage had been done by some delightful chap. He got away with two rods and a nice set of waterproofs. Fortunately my good rods and reels were in the shed.............Remember it's not just the mountain bikes they go for.

Sorry to hear that mate, it might be worth posting exactly what went missing in case anyone gets offered some cheap gear.

Bad luck mate, good suggestion though Keith, which area are you from stumps, it might pay to have a word with your local tackle dealers in case they try to offload your gear there .

check your house insurance policy you may be coverd, some home insurances cover garages and out houses others don't. a similar thing happened to me a few years ago, i had some rods and reels stolen from an out house, it was good makes such as abu conoflex etc but was old gear well past its "best before" date and really wasn't worth much in the condition it was. it turned out my home contents insurance covered the out house and it was a new for old policy so i ended up with just over a grand for gear was worth tuppence.

sorry to hear.

This happened to my brother a few years ago. Check you local second hand shop, they had my brothers gear. He had a big argument with the shop owner and threatened him with the police. Gear back lol

Thanks for that lads, I'm from the Tynemouth area and i have already spoken to Billy's and Frasers. The rods were a Greys BZe and an old beachcaster which i think was a Daiwa but not sure. My house insurance does cover me new for old so it's not all bad news.
