Tony you could try pittenweem breakwater for mackeral it has a bit of depth of the end,not much mind! most of the harbours on the fife coast are pretty shallow of the front.another place to try but its a bit of a run back towards the forth bridge is burntisland harbour/docks they used to get huge cod on floats there in days gone by, but there is a fair depth there so you might be lucky.
theres pollack of the eastern arm of anstruther harbour,a lad is claiming a new scottish shore record pollack just now with a 16lb fish from there.best fishing for them with a float though as its kelp city for the spinning. take a bottom rod and fish the rocks for wrasse and codling over low,theres plenty rocks to look under for crab.
its not my favourite bit of coast due to how shallow it is but i enjoyed my day out today (just going to post a catch report)
you can dig plenty lug at leven beach or elie beach,i dont know if there are any worm at largo.
