did you have a floatation suit on ? if not do you think one would have helped if the worst had happend ?? a lad i know is thinking of buying one after a similar thing happend (glad to hear your still with us )
didnt av 1 on.think a mite of deffo been pushed in then cos theres more bulk 4the water 2 push.but no doubt if i was in the water it would help.still dont think a floatation suit wil keep u safe in such conditions.
glad to hear your safe mate, we dont want more flowers on the railings, i have fished all over wales and the west coast, over here is the scariest water i have seen, hopefully some honest soul will hook or find your gear and it will be returned
Pleased your safe and well and writing this mate. Just makes me think twice about where i fish. Like Alan says it is a good reminder for everyone about how savage the sea can be. Once you are in you are very lucky if you get back out and i'm speaking from experience.
Unlucky on the gear though. With a bit of luck you will get some of it back but if not you can always try your house insurance as mine covers me for up to £4000 of stuff away from my home.
glad your safe and well scott ,lucky aswell as the north sea holds no prisoners!!!
and for the people who dont know.."pensioners corner" is a very open sea defence wall on the back of the sewage treatment plant and illegal to fish at any time and has many security cameras and frequent security patrols so scott more than likely had to climb barbed wire fences and dodge security cameras to get there so doubt you will ever see your fishing gear again.
just think about where you fish in these heavy sea's its really not worth the gamble there is many more safe places to fish rather than get arrested or risk losing your life !!!
honestly mate a carnt see him getting most back rod and reel is the best chance as a lot can be washed up ,rest can get pushed into rocks gaps etc ,but best of luck mate but dont go out spending daft money on new gear use what ya got at the moment or use daves and let him watch cos he doesnt catch nowt anyways lol
jesus scott, you have been very lucky there, infact more than lucky, im hopefully down there 2nite if the conditions are ok, i'll give you a shout if i get any of your gear m8 or see any1 bringing any gear in
Glad your OK Mate. It's not a nice thing to write but it's odds on that an angler will be lost this season somewhere in the UK. Lets hope it's not one of us. The temptation will always there to get on a mark thats a bit risky or "one last cast" as the waves start coming over.
Before I go onto a mark I take couple of minutes to watch the sea, think about where I can get off and how long I've got before I need to get off, a few times it's made me change my mind & head somewhere else.
Hope this is the last close call we have on here this season.
Bloody hell mate!!! Glad your ok and hope you do get some of your gear back. At the end of the day tho' your still amongst us and that's more important than any fishing rod!!
Anyway once again glad your ok mate and stay safe.
Glad to hear your ok mate, like its been said the sea is a powerful thing and it only takes a second or a bad chioce ...so please everyone THINK and take care
