Lugworm

I'm out of touch with buying worms as I have only been using frozen baits since getting back into shore angling earlier this month.

How many Lugworm are in a pack now & what is the price of it?

Cheers.

Expect to pay about 80p to £1 for an ounce of lug. I have usually found that an ounce of lug will last about an hours fishing. On a a 5-6 hour session I would buy £6 of lug but I would always have frozen baits as well. (crab, mussel, squid, razor or mackerel)
Hope it helps.

Thanks for that.

Just been to sports & leisure in Blyth and bought £8 worth, counted them and there is 51 in the pack.
All are canny worms.

See how I get on tonight with them.

I'll be taking the fresh lug & frozen runnydown, squid, razor & mussel.

Blyth is usually £2 for 10, but obviously if they're a bit smaller then he puts more in, I've found them decidedly average the last few times from there to be honest.

Good Luck Daz!!

I usually take a container and ask the shop to put a bit sea water in with the worms they keep better. Collect some fresh water and remove the dead ones if keeping any after a session.

I always buy rag but a couple of weeks ago i was in nets with my mate Ian and he gave me a fiver towrads diesel for the motor. I decided to buy £7 worth of blow lug. There was nowt really doing but i was very impressed with the worm. When they popped they shrunk onto the hook and trace.

got some lug from id in byker yesterday what a load of crap biggest worm prob 2 inches he said put extra in 4 me but still had to put 4 on a hook to make it look like a tasty snack

Ended up on Blyth pier and had it all to myself for a few hours, not a person in sight.

Only had one fish & that was a tiny codling, a fishfinger would have been bigger lol.
