Lure Challenge 2014

I think i will be trying a bit harder this year, all my fish last year were in a 10 day period, i have so many new weapons and rods to play with I need more days fishing, very handy that I am spending so much time on the west coast this year, really looking forward but I have a sneaky suspiscion who will win this year, he never entered last year, wreckingball knows him now too

You must be mistaken, check last years table I did enter!!

I'll be trying a little harder to make sure I beat you this year Paul. You can tell Mr S that he is more than welcome.

Mr. S is correct, he has a few new toys off me for test and has been producing already, just waiting to get started now, he has even bought a resevoir pass for the first time in 12 years, I unfortunately have to visit him a few more times this year on business so might just bag up myself, good luck Si, not that you need it of course

Have you seen these new Fiiish Sand Eels? The action is unreal.

I can't wait for my fishing season to start, I don't know how many species I'll catch but I expect to destroy last years tally lol.
Seriously I've become a bit obsessed with species hunting since I started fishing a few years ago although it's usually been abroad. I just like to hook something different even if its just a few inches long.

I'm currently on 76 types of fish hoping to make it 100 this year. It's an excuse for a holiday in the sun.

Ha
I don't have a clue where to start fishing around our coastline so it will be fun trying out a few locations. I really don't know where to start and only ever messed around on Steetly and our boat fleet is hardly known for its numerous species. A pollack or a haddock is an exotic catch lol.

Thanks for that.
Could anyone tell me of places to go up Scotland with a good chance of catching conger. My Dad and uncle( Fred who often skippers the Famous) used to go to Whithorn but I've read reports that its a bit fished out.

Basically as I want as many species as possible any info about Britain's shoreline would be great especially places that hold the rays and small sharks like Huss and smoothhounds.

The submarine base at holy loch is meant to produce conger, Loch etive will produce rays, huss and doggies and probably the closest place for smoothies would be the holderness coast

Don't forget this post is for lure caught species only, all bait caught species should go on the species hunt on the shore fishing section

Well lads the Challenge starts next weekend, and disappointingly im not going to get out fishing the on Sunday. It turns out that is mothers day on Sunday. Good luck if you get out.
