Mackerel must be in!

Must be, should be NOT :)

Only the odd one that i know of, plus side is the jelly fish here in numbers and that is always the sign that i look for during the first shwoing of mackerel.

Shame the weather is changing abit and we may get a bit blow and rain in the river again.

The west coast that often gets them in April are reporting the odd one with two of the main fishing charters saying the best thay have had was just under 20 in one day...is it the change in the weather or is it the fact that this year has seen the breading shoals hit by our iceland friends big style.

Doesnt help that for weeks upon weeks danish and other trawlers have beem taken thousamds of tons of sandeel from the north sea. A vital part to our eco system.

The next big tide will bring them.

My tip is mid of next week for the macks to arrive in numbers inshore

This will be the fourth summer that we will travelling to the the NE for a July holiday. The last three summers we have always had at least a couple of good Mackerel sessions prior to our holiday. This year, so far, not a sniff!!
