Goes on Middleton this morning for the high tide. Nobody about not even fish and then 2 guys turn up about 9:30. Now as everyone knows, the pier is not short, but these two fishermen started to fish next to me (one on each side of me) using 2 yes 2oz sinkers. :o The wind was blowing at about 30mph so you can imagine the scene, there was tangles everywere. I suggested they might want to use the bigger sinkers that they had in their box...Na mate we only use them in the winter...WHAT
I packed up and went to watch Bargain Hunt to save my sanity. Oh by the way i blanked aswell...........

I just don't know about Middleton, I just can't get away with the place. I think i am just missing the Steetley and can't settle:(.
Think i will try the bandstand on Saturday night, I have made up some pulley rigs tonight as i know i will lose a bit of gear. Do you lads know were the gaps are in the rocks, someone said that you come down from the battery and count 10 posts along but i haven't checked it out yet. If all fails i will be on the beach.

no need for it to be honest someone trying to help others and just get it back in your face as for the prom ive never really fished it have you not tried the huegh mate?

Thats interesting about the bandstand-never seen anyone fish that far along.

Personally if i you have transport i would head for one of the rivers. I had a cracking day off the Walkway last Sunday. River choca with small cod - decent coalie and whitie.

the mind boggles, confucious say, use sinkers for conditions not for time of year.

Tbh mate, it's all pritty flat rock. There's no holes worth mentioning. Saying that tho, I've had codling, coleys, whiting, rockling, eels, flattys and even bass from there. Small tides this week tho so if I was staying local I'd be going on the huff ;)
