making crab cart

alright lads ive just been down the quay and managed to grab a few crabs to make a bit of cart. but what i was wondering is:
do you just use what is inside the crab or are you supose to add something to it ?
i was gonna add a few bits of worm and mussel but im unsure?
also whats the best way to get them in sausage skins ?

just the crab.......and a funnel
 
they have to be hen crabs aswell ... u can just wrap cling film around twice instead of sausage skin, or use finger bandage

as far as i know they dont have to be hen crab they just hold more stuff inside them

the crab i got wernt massive but had plenty in them
 
aye mate when u smash open a hen crab you see a pouch it has little bright red eggs in thats what your after the crab meat is used to bulk it out really

Aye mate like big Phil says hen crab meat with the coral, then when I comes to doing the sausages, freeze the cart solid before making them that way you lose less juice then wrap them in foil! Keeps them frozen abit longer in a flask when fishing!
 
Also what size skins do you reccomend as ive just used 30mm and theyre far too big atleast if the sea comes away ill have a large enough bait for a decent cod
 
There used to be an old timer that fished in Cullercoats nicknamed "Dogger", because all he ever fished with was dogger poultice, just crushed up doggers wrapped up in sheeps wool. He used to get plenty fish.
