the red rocks beside the caravan site can on occasions be productive but i find it is a very hitty missy affair there. the golf course side is a much better bet for consistant sport, plenty pollock, coalies, wrasse and red cod here. two things to bear in mind though, keep your gear to a minimum as some of the best marks are a good hike and also don\'t take silly risks, a good friend of mine slipped on the way down to a gully a few years ago and badly fractured his skull, he had to be air lifted out. best fishing i find is late april through to october, tried several times in the winter but found it crap. best conditions for success are flat calm and been flat calm for several days, never had a good session there yet when a sea is running. if you want easy fishing the jettys at the harbour entrance can be ok, i\'ve had cod to 5lb and coalies to 3lb there. in the harbour itself there are some good flounders, a good tip here if fishing in bright daylight is to cast under the boats, the flounders seem to like the shade. i\'ve seen mullet in the harbour as well but never managed to hook any, not for the want of trying either.
if you want to venture a bit further north st abbs head is a really good shot, good rock fishing (although it helps if you\'re a mountain goat), or in st abbs itself at the back of the harbour decent fishing can be had.
