marks near stockton .

hello all just wondering if any of u know any river mark thats fishable around the stockton mark . have just started work there so was wondering if there was any decent spots along the river etc and from where on does stop becoming tidal ? cheers

I think the barrage is the tidal barrier on the Tees, with pretty good fishing above it. It's a free stetch pretty much from here up-river to Yarm with good pike spots accessable through Preston Park. There also used to be plenty of perch and bream, remember the tees also used to hold the chub record. For up to date info try the tackle shop in Thornaby, can't remember the name.

im from the Stockton area, so depends what you want to catch.

The river at Yarm is good, behind Sainsburys is often good bream fishing on an evening. If you walk under the bridge its good Pike and perch fishing. If you stay on that bank its free fishing for miles.

Also if you go into the green at thornaby, the houses back onto the river. Horse shoe bend is good for chubb.

Ive also been told that Middlesbrough angling club have given up the stretch in leven. If so thats great trout, grayling and chubb fishing..

didnt know it was freshwater that far in. honestly thought it was still tidal ...still using my satnav 3rd day on the job as yesterday made wrong turn for a 19 and ended up in city ctr ....a trip to spotty dog it was then .for bits and bobs...i already miss fishing republic rutherfords trading post and nets....cheers for the advice lads might have to give this pike fishing mallarchy a go in the future then ....or maybe not ...might still try find a job in peterlee durham or sunderland ....
