marsden beach... 3rd bay new pb

went today, 3pm tide slowly going out, got soakin wet from climbing over the rock pools........ anyway, first cast got a small bass that went straight back, second cast another bass on the small side. "thought is gonna be a canny day" .............. 3rd cast me rod went banging then slack line "**** me" my mate said, reeled in a 9lb cod with a pretty big plaice on the bottom hook... :):):) job done for today... gonna miss the comp aswell as im at work..

bait used was black lug and bluey (lots of it with 6/0 hooks)

fish are there if ur in the comp tomorrow.... ull probally win if u fish that area tomorrow
 
Well done on the bass & even better for that belting cod.
That area will no dowt be packed today for the comp.

Nice1 i fished just along from there last week and had rattles every cast but they turned out to be coalie, had 3 small bass and a dab but nothing over 1lb.
 
sorry lads, havnt been on a while,, no photos as i only gonna fish the beach but the tide was just right to get to 3rd bay, didnt thinnk about camears and my phone isnt 'top notch'....

broony, aye it was on the sonik m8... got some canny fish with it,. much stiffer than my other one
