Yep, Wansbeck. I normally fish the south side where the boat sheds are, get about 1.5-2hrs each side of the tide. Find an early morning or dusk high tide usually best, lots of flatties with the odd coalies and eels now and then. Can be a bit weedy at times and don't bother if there's a lot of freshwater coming down the river after a lot of rain. Normally use light rods (spinning rods normally with a 2oz sinker), rag and mackeral/herring.
If you move further along the beach to the mouth there's a chance of the odd bass.
The narrow channel from the mouth into the estuary has a VERY strong current and drops of quite suddenly so be careful there.
Edit - also got Seaton Sluice, fish off the Rocky Island breakwater, cast straight out off the end or to about 2 o'clock - check it at low tide though as there's a few rocks around the edge of the breakwater that you can get hung up on.
