melting lead

i use a welding glove for holding the pan it works ok also can hold the mould for a short time for putting wire,s in ect , jamcod

The pan I normally use was too small for it so I bought a big creuset pan on ebay, I turned it down as low as I could and stuck the pan on, within seconds the pan enamel was flying everywhere - scary stuff.
 
try hamilton gas products, i use the Foker Gas Boiling Ring it has a 8.8kw output. for around £50 its billiant with a 12 inch diameter aluminium jam or preserve pan from flea-bay around £12 - £20, the pan holds a canny bit ive had 8 stone of melted lead in it no problem.
 
I use a stainless steel tea pot:

couple of quid, has been on the go for years now and seems indestructible and makes pouring and absolute doddle
