Just for the record I had 27 fish or so in last years club season. Three were whiting which were killed. Two possibly three were flats released alive after weigh in. The rest were cod. I didn't weigh in any pollack or wrasse and wouldn't I would look pretty daft sprouting off then doing the same. That's my choice as an angler just as its the same to take em if they are legal size. Never once did I say the young lads were in the wrong I just said it was sad. Maybe one day they'll get a kick out of returning fish maybe not that's not my decision. But I hear it every year " there's no bloody fish" and it can't all be blamed on trawlers we all take fish so were All responsible. I think people got the impression that I kill pollack/ wrasse only in comps I don't kill them full stop.
