Alright there Jim ,I\'ve never fished there myself and would love to give it a go but I\'m working nights this week, could you let me know next time you\'re down there if you don\'t mind me tagging along, I fish the sluice end of the beach and St. Marys island but nothing inbetween .
Cheers Steve
Hello Steve. Where do you park when you are fishing St Marys mate ? Ive always walked along to the island as I dont live far off it and often wondered about parking there as most of the car parks, if not all of them, have metered parking where a ticket must be bought. Do you get any bother off the parking police or not ?
Have had the car broken into during the day while walking along the beach. Safer at night it would seem as I always park in the nearest car park to the causeway
We\'ve never had a problem parking there,as Stores says park nearest the Causeway,we never pay for parking after dark but be warned my mate got done a couple of years ago.Gag thats a canny walk m8 from the main road lol, saying that I sometimes use my mountain bike if I\'m fishing Blyth pier takes me two minutes.
George do you fish off the walkway/prom casting towards Tynemouth lighthouse,if so do you have much luck there,it looks like its mixed ground nearer the beach ?
Hello Alan. Yes mate, thats where I usually fish down there and you are right about it being mixed ground. Having said that I havent suffered many tackle losses. I have also had one or two codling to about a pound and a half but that was about two years ago. I havent fished there for quite a while and If I remember rightly, I got about four or five undersized whiting the last time. Seems to me to be best fished mid to high water.
Alan, if you shift down onto the beach as the tide turns walk down, towards the boathouse & carry on past it say 20/30 yds thers a good spot there, Its probably best to look at it, at low tide, & work out the best spot, its sort of a bay within a bay it moves around a little depending on the wind& tide, Its supposed to fish well, even as it almost empties out,,, Cheers Tich
