Best mono + Shockleader For a 525 mag. Been faffing around trying different ones and just cant seem to find a one i like. Anyone got any suggestions?

depends where you usually fish as to what line i would recommend on your 525. but on mine i use suffix tritanium 15lb and ultima powerflex 60lb in the river and for clean ground. On the rocks I use 25lb berkley big game and 60 leader- but looking to change to either 30lb or 35lb big game straight through for lobbing baits or 100lb braid for more strength to get me gear out of snags .

I use Sakuma Dark Crystal on my mags and its cracking line, cannot fault it one bit.

As for shockleader I use 60lb to 80lb Sakuma leader depending on location and type of fishing.

powerstorm clear mono stuff from fishing republic i bought a spool to put on my boat reel i thought 30lb was sufficent for off the boat ,after recent trips when snagged up ive tied it off and ended up anchoring the boat several occasions :D resulting having to motor off to snap it cheap and cheerful line yes but its strong as out be using it this winter possibly straight threw if not a 60lb shocky with it for safe measure ;)

Ive used that stuff, i know what you mean. I was snagged at tynemouth and it just wouldnt snap, had to walk nearly 80 yards for it to snap. With it i would use a shokky. Its not to great at abbrasion resistance. :)

On the beach I use 14lb sakuma dark crystal on my abu 6500/5500 and 80lb shockleader and on my slosh I use 25lb sakuma and 80lb shockleader for piers

Great minds think alike... ;)

Excellent stuff the Sakuma Dark Crystal is. Never used it as low as 14lb for the summer bur used the 20lb and its great.

I use the 30lb for the rocks and a cannot rate it highly enough :D

Gonna try it in 40lb when a manage to get myself a Penn 535.

Bit of a dissenting voice - loved the Sakuma line (Nite Crystal) for casting but never had much confidence in it for fishing even in the higher diameters.

Best line I have ever used is Suffix Tritanium; knots well, high abrasion resistance, good strength to diameter and casts like a dream. Use it in .35mm on all my casting reels and can't fault it.

Shockleader wise I use Varivas 15 - 70lb tapered leaders over clean ground and just the generic 80lb Varivas shockleader / rig line over mixed / rough ground (don't see the point of buying a different line for shockleader than the stuff I make my rigs with).

berkley xts salt water 15lb or 20lb mainline and i just by a cheap 4oz spool of 60lb line and use it as shockleader and attach with a slim beauty knot. works a treat and doesnt break the bank.

eggackly m8 expensive line doesnt make anyone a better angler oh al get that stuff cos a seen a man in a magazine caught a good fish on it whatever if the current lines your using pulls in fish no need to upgrade it simple as tackle tarts LOL :D

i use a lot of Sakuma line mainly nite crystal and do have a lot of faith in it on the open beaches and light to medium ground, tend to turn to berkerley big game for the rough stuff, also got a reel with 100lb braid on when all else fails,as for leaders Sakuma tapered for the beaches and Sakuma Shockleader 80lb for the pier or rocks ......

I've even used 13lb fladen the brown spool it was only 3. 99 and its good stuff but you can't get anymore cause I've tried. It was realy good for casting at distance and even dragged a 4lb cod in throught massive breakers on the hall :D

20 lb nite crystal mainline, bimmnied up to sakuma 60lb leader, beach and mixed ground, same for rough ground but add a rotten bottom to it

good old sensor in the lower diameters for me.

second choice suffix tritanium

80lb shocker (used to be 70lb which casts better until recently following breaks)
