Don't know how accurate Alan, but few lads on Whitby sites suggesting it was around 200lb

Hade one last year my self from tynemouth was around 5ft long and was around 100lb

They make it sound as if this halibut was caught just of Whitby pier !!

It was on a big trawler and could have been caught in the high sea nowhere near home.
