Monthly Boat Comps 2013...

Is anyone up for a bit of a comp that will be run monthly, for privately owned boats up to, say 6.5 metres, and the crews..
Just a fun thing based on trust for the heaviest fish for each month, from March onwards.....
Dont know if its possible but maybe KeithB could arrange for each months winner to display a gold cup beside his/her avatar for that month..

If anyone has any ideas, put them on here, regarding lists of boat names that want to take part......remember its just a bit of fun.....and the banter should be good....:D

I'm in.
Are we going to do grand total for each port.

Sunderland, amble,Royal quays, Seaham Hartlepool.

That might get the banter going on the pontoons. :D

It is a good idea lots of boat owners on this site now so should make for a few more posts during the summer.
Not for me but can see it being popular...good luck :)

I'm in, just as a side interest why not have a fun comp that runs through till end of summer, see who can get heaviest species, pick half a dozen of the most populous species cod, ling, mackeral, whiting etc and see has his name by the specimens by the end of the season.

i think we'll have a crack at it too............:D

Darlin is in....

allready looking forward to it....:D

Sounds great. Can you not let us charter people, who can't afford our own boats, join in the fun? I mean lets face it, I won't catch much anyway! :)

Il b up for this, how would trailer boats go about it as still not in a mariner, still busy sorting out the boat In between this rubbish weather, picking up my bigger outboard at weekend then b on with electric toys! Sounds good idea this comp tho I must admit

Wasnt expecting 2 pages of replies :o:D.
Nice to see interest though, i was thinking maybe a moderator could sort out a sticky, just for the heaviest fish from each trip to save cluttering up a thread, total catches would go in the Boat Catch Reports as usual, but just one pic and weight in the sticky.

Stewey, i see you want to include species, but i was thinking about keeping it simple, everyone wants to catch the biggest fish so i think that would gain the most interest.....and bragging rights.....:D

Trailer boats not a problem, and i dont think distance would be a problem, Ray up at Amble would be interested as well i think..
If you fish 30 times a month or once it shouldnt matter either, its just for a bit of fun and add to the forum interest :)

Still 2 months to go so plenty time to sort it out.......what do you think...:)

The Cowpen Queen will be in! 16 days at graft left to go then homeward bound to have a go at this uptiding lark. Can't wait. I hope there is some Christmas cake left!

Graham.

Yes Chris , put Eleda in there , it'll make me remember to take my camera if nowt else
I don't like the idea of boat competitions , I think they encourage folk to take their boats out in conditions they might not otherwise chance , or travel further out than they might otherwise do, but this sounds ok, bit of fun, no having to go out on a certain day, no having to be back at a certain time , just do your normal fishing trips and if you happen to get a biggun , post it up on the board .
Is that the sort of thing you mean?
Bit like the big fish comps in the marinas :)
