Mti tripod

Very difficult to get hold of as they are not produced any more and the people who have them won't let them go. Took me ages to get one, a pair of new ones had been lying in a warehouse and found by a clearance company, still had to pay top dollar for it. Good luck finding one but they don't come up for sale too often.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want a mti rod stand?. I found mine very heavy and very clumsy, compared to a Ian golds rod stand.

The weight is the only disadvantage over other tripods but I have carried mine for miles no problem and I am not exactly a muscleman! The extra weight is made up for by it's stability, which is second to none for me. The way the legs are heavier at the bottom instead of the top gives it the advantage over the Shakey Salt for me.

Yea I agree mark spot on there, they are very stable but I found it a bit clumsy and heavy especially on a long walk with all your gear plus 2 rods and bait bucket.

A Golds type Stand is fine for Sandy Marks where you can shove the legs in the sand but ****e for Piers,Proms & the like. The MTI is fantastic for that type of spot. Wouldn't like to carry it to distant marks mind lol.
