mull

I've been going for atleast 25 years fishing not as good as it used to be but plenty a species to target and nice senery. Campsites at drummore, sandhead, port Logan. Think you can camp for free or a few quid to the farmer at east and west tarbet at the start of the mull its self.

End of the mull can be naughty bit of a climb but bigger conger and Pollack. Jelly worms on lead heads for Pollack and mackerel flappers for conger fished on bottom.

East and west tarbet easy fishing from rocks. Dogfish, mackerel, wrasse, Bass, coalies, Pollack best on a flood tide the sprats and sandeel can schoal close to the cliffs gannets driving waters boiling with fish I once literally lowered my spinner into the water and coalie after coalie cast further mackerel was crazy fish all over. Once the bait fish moved out into luce bay, went back to float fishing ragworm for wrasse and Pollack.

Here's a few pics of the area from the end of the mull, its light house, fog horn, the tide rip and the cliffs next to the cliff top cafe. Then port logan and upto port Patrick.

looks good cheers for photos bit like whithorn, didnt realise it was so far might have a trip across next year, was looking for somewhere decent to fish with just about an hour drive from ashington, any ideas

The mull is a cracking part of the UK, i have fished it for the last 16 years but in my opinion and i know loads will say otherwise the shore fishing is crap now,it used to be great sport for pollack etc but not a touch on past years now. Boat fishing for pollack and tope is still amazing thou.

Its a great part of the UK as stated and well worth a trip, i often go camping at Dunsky castle its so cheap per tent and right in prime pollack/wrasse/conger grounds :) good thing about the mull is so many marks to fish.

One thing i would say is respect the farmers land and take your rubbish home as not doing the two listed have spoiled some of my fav marks of late.
