Mussel

Thinking of a session up at Beadnell this weekend. Only have frozen crab so will try to get some mussel to cocktail it. Limits on time mean I'm not likely to get down t Moonfleet etc to pick some up so I'm thinking of just getting some from the local Morrisons.

Anyone ever got their mussel from the supermarket and if so is it ok to fish with or has it been treated somehow.

I have used supermarket mussel before and caught fish, but when I have bought it there never seemed to be much meat in each shell. Very poor value in my experience, need 5 or 6 to make a decent bait portion.
