someone help me out, what do i need for freshwater fishing, and what is the nearest place to wallsend. never done it before, and wouldnt mind doing this during the summer months. cheers. (havent got a clue)

if I we're you id tag along with a mate who knows what they're doing and has the patience to show you the ropes and lend you the gear. A must is a rod licence which you can get online. Can't really help you with any venues as im from the other side of the Tyne. Good luck anyway

what ya afta course or trout? u can tag along nxt time a gan trout fishin cos al have the car. higham lake is only 10 mins away bait and fly lakes fairly cheap too. u cud ride there easy just near ponteland

There are loads of options, first decide what you want to fish for.

Personally is recommend a match rod with waggler float (best way to learn)
Then there is feeder fishing, pole fishing carping and piking.

Killingworth lake, and ive got a feeder rod and reel that will double up as a float rod plus some floats, feeders and other bits and bobs you can borrow

cheers lads, I don't really know which one to go for. although killy lake is only a stones throw away, I wouldn't mind going with you sam. would gladly tag along. so friendly on here! scotty was 1st to take me sea fishing, and a couple of offers for fresh water. give me a private message when you lads are next arranging to go out. thanks.
