nice fishes mate i think your scorpion is a long spined but mike will keep you right there.i would say the other is a flounder. but well done on the tadpole fish
Well done on the tadpole fish lumpsucker ! You don'e see many of those. I've never caught one myself. That's a very good point scored.
Your other fish is a Long Spined Sea Scorpion. The length of the spines is not the way to tell them apart as it's only slightly longer in the LS than the SS and easy to confuse. There are two easy ways to tell them apart - the first is the size. The LS is a much smaller fish and only grows to 18cm. The SS is much bigger and typically grows to 30cm but can be larger - just look at the huge one in the catch reports recently. So if it's small like yours it's probably an LS but if it's 20cm or more it is an SS. The other way is to turn the fish over and look at the throat membrane (see pic below)....
