NESA Winter Comp?

It has been mentioned Tony but the tide times are pretty poor for both November and December. Still not sure what to do yet. We will have to do something though as I still have a nice fishing rod and a Fishing rucksack to give out as prizes.

To hold it on a Friday or Saturday night it would have to be a very late start to go with the tide times, not weighing in till possibly 02:00 which might put a few people off.

Cheers Jim...been looking at the times myself in view to another Freindly and they look pretty tricky
 
Friday 12th December Low water 21:11 0.9 tide. Could fish 7pm till 11pm???

Saturday 13th December Low water 22:02 0.7 tide. Could fish 8pm till 12am???

Just an idea for either the winter comp or Tony's friendly.

Looking at the tides Fri 28/11 gives low water 21.26hrs. Could be suitable for a 7-11, more ebb than flood is a bit safer :question:
 
Peter, the tide on the 28th Nov. is too small mate, a lot of rock marks would be covered.

I had looked at Sat Dec 13th but thought it might be a wee bit late for quite a few. I don't really want to hold it on a Friday as there are a few that have a long travel to get there and for most Friday is a work day.

If most are happy I would go for Saturday 13th December fishing from 19:30 till 23:30 for the same safety reasons that Peter mentioned.

It will be north of the Tyne this year as the N v S will be held south of the Tyne hopefully in February.

Anyone that has any comments about this make them on here and we can get it sorted by this weekend.

lol well yet another comp ill be unable to attend and im sure it will be the same for many others.
2003 the last time i fished a NESA comp due to location. Seems there is a lot of bias towards the north of the region and no thoughts at all towards the people who live in the south of it.

Don't quite see how that works as both this Comp and NvS alternate between North And South...last years winter comp was held South and this years NvS will be south as well...or are you talking about Opens as well?
 
yes but, what you class as south is still very much north for the people down this neck of the woods. Like i stated earlier the most southerly NESA comp has been south sheilds.

It's a fine line to tread to keep all parties happy but that said quite a few of you Seaham lads have made it to both sides of the Tyne before now
