Lol codman40, that's the way fishing is sometimes mate, one time you will lose loads of tackle another time none.

Welcome to NESA.

I only lost 3 sets of gear in about 6 trips, granted i prob fished a cleaner part but there you go...flip side never caught anything bi there lol.

where abouts were u fishing?everytime i fish there i never lose anything.i usually only fish the beach to the right hand side of the pipe and occasionally off the pipe itself.

confucious say, angler who fishes in wrong place loses lots of gear, think you need to try another part of Lynemouth

When conditions are right Lyneburn & Lynemouth beachs are cracking marks.
Try Lyneburn parking up next to the Travelers site between the burn bridge and Boghall Rocks, go straight over to the beach fish anywhere there and to the right up to the Burn. Always found it fishes best after a few Big seas as it is dying off. I always try to fish it half tide down to low tide then 2hrs up, like the lads say use Pulley rigs and rotten bottoms and 6oz grip leads, you wont loss as much gear then. Dont think theres been much caught anywhere at the moment so dont give up.

HAPPENED to me a month ago lost a fish off the rocks (left side of pipe) m8 **** happens.. now i know how to get the ****ers in without loosin em ;) jump down to the other set of rocks.. your risk:D on the other hand i dont loose gear at lynemouth so you must be hittin a dodgy patch or summit with ya trace maybe... i always blanked at lynemouth in the past so i stopped goin, then i went oot a month ago n almost caught a fishy lol so ill be oot again for sure, same place/mark:D unlucky tho m8.... always next time

ive gone through atleast a 100 rigs since beginning winter does pee ya off but ya goto build more if ya want to go fishing and any damaged ones etc hook snood loss i just reuse the rig bodys and redo them

the beach is changing to the way it used to be years ago, since the coal tipping in the sea has stopped so the beach is changing it wont get any better same as blast beach seaham.

me and 2 mates fished there about a month ago and all got snagged on every cast we had parked in the lay by and went down the bank onto the beach then after that we parked in alcan and went to the beach behind and didnt lose anything

Sounds like you've been unlucky mate, never lost a rig to a snag on the right of the pipe, but its defintiely rough to the left!! Good mark though mate, don't give in!

my last two visits up there have produced three nice codling and a coley only lost two rigs , one two a snag off the beach and the other when my shock leader parted which was probably my own fault for not checking it keep at it mate its part off fishing

Its only rough if you fish off the rocks to the left of the pipe but on the right its fine no need for weak links etc. My personal experience of the place is ive had soom good bags of fish and also blanked, its a funny beach it either fishes or it doesnt at all. This winter i had a bag of 6 fish for 20lb with biggest over 4lb but then the next time i went i got nowt. Keep trying, fish the beach rather than the rocks, either the right hand side of the pipe of just before the crosswaters on the north side.
