Can anyone advise where to get 18560 lithium batteries for a head lamp other than MAPLINS. who charge 15 quid EACH.my lamp was only £13 inc batts. I,M not looking for the cheapest but theres bound to be somewhere cheaper than maplins Any advice welcome Bob:) ps they are just for spares.

the torch came supplied with 2 ultrafire 3800mah ,but i,ve been advised to steer clear of any with the word fire in the name:):):)bob

most are redressed laptop cells , comming out of hong kong and the mah claims are unfounded. If you wanT quality in this area you have to spend , look at torchy ,panasonic, sanyo,SAMSUNG for a decent cell .

I've not used them yet tbh because the Samsung ones which I have 4 of last forever on a charge. They sell for between 10 and 16 quid each !

I have a Cree and came with 2x 3000mh 3.7v batteries. I have 6 x 4000mh Panasonic batteries. Am I fine using these in my Cree?

The batteries are usually fine, it is the charging circuit in the headlamp that either fails to charge the batteries or burns out altogether. A separate battery charger will charge and condition the batteries properly. I have been charging mine like this for over two years after the internal charger packed up and burned out the psu (plug in power supply unit) and the batteries and headlamp have been fine.

Me brother has converted his 1600lm one to run on a 6v square battery he did this a couple of months ago been working fine and a brighter beam im thinking of doing mine as im sick of charging battreys
