hi lads i have just been getting a boat it is a sea hog sea trooper it did belong to my late dad so i am over the moon to have it i have a 50 hp four stroke for main engine and a 15hp for back up i no it is a bit big but it belong with the boat so did not have the heart to part with it .Well as was wondering is is worth fishing in the winter months i come from newbiggin by the sea thank by the way have a great new year

Its always worth a go during the winter, uptiding is the best method, the lads are doing well off the beaches so if you can get a nice day, anchor up half a mile off on some decent ground and lob some big baits out.....stay safe...:)

Some good marks round there mate n over towards blyth, the beach is very soft , im from ashington n was going to launch from newbiggin till lads at rnli station told me. Ended up blyth boat club.

bigger the spare engine you have the better as far as I am concerned, as already been said uptiding or just fishing at anchor has produced some good fish this winter already, it is a pity more boat anglers don't give it a try, but be patient and use nice big cocktail baits, squid has been fishing well, these big cod just go along and hoover anything up. If going out take warm drinks, wrap up warm and keep safe don't take chances and let me know if you catch anything
